"Quilting with Gabby"
With Instructor Mary Ourecky
Saturday, January 21, 2017
9 a.m.–3 p.m.
Cost: $65 ($55 for members)
Children of all ages—along with a grown-up—are invited to spend a day creating a doll-sized quilt inspired by the Little Sewers Series from Bambini Book Club.
The workshop fee includes the cost of museum admission for one adult and one child (valued at $12), the quilt kit (valued at $18), plus an afternoon snack. During the workshop, children will work with their adult partner to create a doll-sized quilt with fabric from Bambini. They will also receive a special tour of the Mary Ghormley Reading Room, which showcases our doll bed and quilt collection, and story time to read from the Little Sewer Series that feature Gabby. We will take a one-hour break for lunch on your own—feel free to bring a picnic to eat at the museum.
In Gabby Quilts For Friends and Gabby’s Winter Jammies by Michael McCormick and Illustrated by Rachelle Anne Miller, Gabby explores quiltmaking and sewing with her friends Bear, Goose and Sheep. Copies of these books are available in the Museum Shop and workshop attendees will receive a discount.
Note: Children must be accompanied by an adult, though two children may work with the same guardian.
Cancellation Policy: All canceled registrations will be charged a $10 processing fee. Registration canceled within two weeks prior to the workshop will be refunded 50 percent of the fee.
