Donating a Quilt

Donating a Quilt to the Collection

The International Quilt Study Center's Acquisitions Committee directs the growth of the center's collections. Committee members are guided by a Collections Plan, which outlines the collection's strengths and weaknesses. This helps committee members identify priority areas for collecting, as well as areas where the center has significant representation. Acceptance of a quilt is determined by a majority vote of Acquisitions Committee members.

Committee members consider many factors for donations, including how the piece fits into the museum's collecting goals, its overall condition, what is known about the quilt and its maker, its historic value, etc.

If you are interested in donating a quilt to the collection, complete the form below to the best of your ability. Because of the high volume of donation offers we receive, please allow 2-4 weeks for a response.

(Please complete one form per quilt.)
