The International Quilt Study Center & Museum offers programming to educate and entertain audiences. Various activities and events are available, whether you are a lifelong quilter or exploring a new interest.

The IQSCM is a proud participant in Lincoln's First Friday Artwalk. In addition to free admission from 4-7 p.m. the first Friday of each month, visitors can enjoy gallery tours and first looks at new exhibitions. Music, demonstrations or other activities are also frequently offered.

Tuesday Talks

Held the fourth Tuesday of each month March through October at noon, Tuesday Talks provide behind the scenes and in depth information about current and upcoming exhibitions. The talks are free with admission and held in the Campbell/Hodder Education Classroom.

Learn your quilt's story at Quilt Identification Day. During Quilt Identification Day our trained team of staff and volunteers will examine quilts and offer information about patterns, fabrics, styles and estimated age. We will create a history form and documentation label for each quilt ensuring your quilt’s story is preserved for future generations. Limit two quilts per person per visit. Please sign-up for back-to-back spots if bringing two quilts.

Price: Members $15 per quilt
General: $26 for first quilt (includes the cost of admission) and $20 for the second quilt

Small groups are invited to quilt at the museum for free on Saturdays. Quilters receive a place to practice their craft while visitors observe quilting first hand. For more information, or to reserve a Saturday, call 402-472-6549.

Join us for our 10th Annual National Quilting Day at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum on Saturday, March 16, 2019, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

This free community event will include block printing, bracelet making, handwork demonstration, collections care, Quilts of Valor and more! The lecture schedule for this year's event includes: 

  • "Collecting and Recollecting: Contemporary Quilts in Western India" by Marin Hanson at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  • "Quilts of Valor" by Sara Kenny at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. 
  • "Crafting Culture" by Claire Nicholas & Surin Kim at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • “I Like It All” trunk show by Peg Pennell at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Free parking is available in all university lots and ala carte lunch is available for purchase.
