"Practical Patriotism in a Civil War Quilt" at the Great Plains Art Museum

Wednesday, April 1, 2015 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Description: A rare Civil War quilt urges Union soldiers to “Rally ‘round the flag, boys.” The quilt, in the International Quilt Study Center & Museum collection, also provides evidence that women leveraged female cultural ideals to both defend the Union and care for its soldiers, all from the home front. Jonathan Gregory will provide a lecture on this quilt at the Great Plains Art Museum, 1155 Q St.
