Quilting, Line + Color Workshop

Saturday, October 6, 2018

With instructor Yoshiko Jinzenji, internationally known weaver, dyer, fabric artist, teacher and quilter and sponsored by the Omaha Modern Quilt Guild!

Join us for a fun and informative class fusing Japanese design and modern techniques. In this workshop, you will explore color, shape, stitching, and fabric ideas. We will experiment by overlapping thin, transparent fabrics in several layers and observe the changing light and dark effects. We will also play with how surface effects can change depending on the selection of a base fabric and how placing motifs on different ground fabrics can create a floating effect. On transparent fabrics, we will add quilting lines in a bias layout or create dense and rough quilted lines in order to see if the surface appearance might also shift. The fee for the kit, (includes pattern and all wool), is $40.00, payable directly to the teacher in cash, the day of class.

There are two sessions available for registration:

  • Morning: 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (This workshop is filling fast. Please call 402-472-6549 to see about openings.)
  • Afternoon: 1:30-5 p.m.

Cost: $50 or $40 for IQSCM members

CANCELLATION POLICY: If a class is canceled due to low enrollment, IQSCM will refund the class fee.  No cancellations, refunds or credits available for this workshop.
