Kim Taylor, collections manager, ensures the International Quilt Study Center & Museum’s collection is cared for by using proper handling and storage techniques with the assistance of a dedicated volunteer base. She oversees managing the collections database and paperwork for donations, purchases, and incoming or outgoing loans for exhibitions. She also mentors students interested in developing skills in managing museum collections. Taylor has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in painting and drawing, a Bachelor's in French language and literature, and a Master’s in cultural anthropology from the University of Montana. Her thesis involved research on Sioux and Assiniboine star quilts. Before joining the IQSCM in October 2012, she worked for the University of Northern Iowa Museum and has presented at conferences and symposiums nationwide.
