Friends Board President Susan Weber, right, and board member June Pederson served cookies, popcorn and beverages to more than 230 visitors, primarily families from our community.

Friends at National Quilting Day

Representatives from Friends of the International Quilt Study Center & Museum ran an informational booth at this year's National Quilting Day on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at the IQSCM! Calico Trails: Journey with Nebraska Author Stephanie Grace Whitson

To celebrate the museum's 10th anniversary, Friends partnered with Lincoln City Libraries to bring together quilters and readers through two special events presented by author Stephanie Grace Whitson.

Whitson paid tribute to 19th Century pioneer women in two events held at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum on December 14, 2018, and at the Heritage Room of Nebraska Authors on January 20, 2019. During the presentations, Whitson used the women's own words and shared quilts from her personal collection.

Approximately 100 people from more than 17 communities attended one or both of the events.

2018 Friends of IQSCM Art Market

Friends of IQSCM had a record-setting year at its 2018 Art Market. With 19 vendors, plus a table of donated items sold directly by Friends, the market raised more than $13,000 in profits, which is a new record!

The event also hosted the largest number of attendees despite inclement weather.

Save the date for the 2019 Art Market, which will be held November 22-23 at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum.
