Director of Development
Carly Kennedy manages fundraising programs at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum, including individual giving, corporate sponsorship, grants and major gifts. While she began her career as a public school educator, teaching English and history, her professional path transitioned to program development and grant writing. However, she remains a history hobbiest and fan of the written word. At IQSCM these worlds merge where she implements an annual plan and long-term strategy to fund the exhibition and preservation of America’s and the world’s historical, cultural and artistic voice found in quilts and quiltmaking traditions. Kennedy graduated from East Texas Baptist University with a bachelor’s in English and history and has completed graduate studies in technical communications and Native American History at the University of Nebraska Omaha.
