Director

Professor Patricia Crews joined the faculty of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1984 where she teaches textile history and textile science courses and is director of the International Quilt Study Center & Museum. She has published over 50 technical papers about the history, preservation, and performance of textiles.

In addition, Professor Crews has received several awards for distinguished teaching and outstanding research. In 1993 she won the Smithsonian's Frost Prize for Distinguished Scholarship in American Crafts for her book entitled "Nebraska Quilts and Quiltmakers." In 2003, Crews was named a Willa Cather Professor for Outstanding Scholarship. Most recently, Dr. Crews was honored to be the 2006 inductee to the Nebraska Quilters' Hall of Fame.
