We are excited to announce that the International Quilt Study Center & Museum has been named a finalist for top museum in the Lincoln's Choice Awards. This is an annual contest sponsored by the Lincoln Journal Star to recognize excellence in our community. To celebrate, we are sharing this bonus Quilt of the Month to showcase a new piece in our collection. This is the first time we have shared this acquisition.
Ups and Downs was created by artist Olga Prins Lukowski of the Netherlands in 2014. Prins Lukowski has practiced textile art for 30 years. This is one of three of her works recently acquired for the Quilt House collection.
"It just struck us when we saw it," said Leslie Levy, Ardis & Robert James Executive Director of Quilt House. "It's beautiful to look at, but the more you do, and when you view it up close, you see the structure is incredibly complex. We hope you will come view it on a behind-the-scenes tour of our museum to truly appreciate its full impact."
Thank you for your support in helping us be a top museum in our community. If you like, voting is open through February 19.
